This discussion is about the truth behind the myth.
Jack Of All Trade has been used wrongly in our present time to discourage persons with multiple talents and skills.
According to the origin of the word, it was coined and used to appreciate or compliment persons with mastery of several skills.
The latin called it "Johnny Do it all"
According to its origin, the part of the figure of speech that says "master of none" was never part of it.
The phrase was added later and was used as a jest to rebuke persons who abused generalism by not developing good basic knowledge of their numerous skill set.
Later on in history, the statement was reshaped and given a new tail to become more complimentary to the person at the receiving end.
The statement became: Jack of all Trade, Master of none but better than one.
Further research proved that for you to be a true Jack of all trade, you must first develop perfection in one skill and then build others around it.
And also people described as the statement, tend to survive more as they are opportunist whose talents are seasonless.
However, they are not recommended to handle core roles in any of their numerous skill set.
